The Red Cross Málkafé

The Red Cross Málkafé is an informal drop-in* language café where internationals living in the Faroe Islands can practise Faroese with Red Cross volunteers.

In Tórshavn, Málkafé / Language Café is every Wednesday on the ground floor of Býarbókasavnið.

Málkafé is a free, recurring event which first started in September 2022. Volunteers use various ways to help practise Faroese, for example by speaking, reading, playing games and doing other activities.

At Málkafé one can practise Faroese, get at a free warm drink, juice and a sweet snack and meet new people.

Children are welcome along with their parents.

*drop-in means that everyone can come and go as they please.
