Hevnd – with Petur Mohr Reinert

Where: Skálin
Duration: 45 min.

Hevnd (Revenge) is a relentless and psychologically intense debut novel by Petur Mohr Reinert, establishing a new and powerful voice in Faroese literature. The novel explores the dynamics of bullying and the complex forces that drive revenge.

Set partly on board a trawler in Sørvágur and in Tórshavn, it depicts a dark journey through anger, vulnerability, and human brutality. Hevnd is the first part of a trilogy that delves into psychological and ethical questions about justice and the limits of human nature.

A novel that challenges the reader’s moral compass — asking difficult questions without offering easy answers.

Petur Mohr Reinert meets Niels Uni Dam in conversation.

Petur Mohr Reinert is a trained music teacher and dyslexia specialist and holds a business qualification in marketing and management. He is retired and lives in Sweden. Hevnd (Revenge) is his debut novel – the first volume in a trilogy. Petur has released music with the bands Devon and Feðgar, and he co-founded the advertising agency Petur & Petur as well as the newspaper Vikublaðið, together with the late Petur Slyne. He has also played a central role in Faroese music, including as the initiator of Ólavsøkufestivalurin.

Niels Uni Dam holds a master’s degree in communication and runs the communications agency Nudlavirkið.
He made his literary debut 31 years ago and has since published two poetry collections and written more than 10,000 articles and reviews. For many years, he was one of the Faroe Islands’ most discussed critics, reviewing everything from music to literature and theatre.
Like Petur, he has roots in both communication and music – but this will be the first time the two meet on stage.
