Jón Festirstein, Kristina á Váli, and Mattias Kapnas are well-known names on the Faroese music scene. They have previously performed together in various contexts, including with the ensemble Aldubáran and the Faroe Islands Symphony Orchestra.

Now, for the first time, they come together as a piano trio – a collaboration that grew from their shared work at the Music School in Tórshavn.

Concert Programme
The trio will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 49 – one of the most beloved works in the classical chamber music repertoire. The piece is primarily known for its lyrical melodies and a virtuosic piano part that demands both technical precision and musical sensitivity.

In addition, the audience will experience something truly special: the world premiere of a new piece for piano trio, composed by Mattias Kapnas specifically for this occasion.
