Have you ever imagined what it feels like to be a sliding door, opening and closing for people? Or how about rolling around like a shopping cart on wheels? It sounds crazy – but that’s exactly what we’re going to play!

Market is a fun and interactive workshop where you, together with other children, can explore the world of shopping and consumption – without buying a single thing. Here, we will play, use our bodies, and come up with fun ways to be things we usually only see in a supermarket. Maybe standing in line will suddenly become fun?

Together with the artist group Other Spaces, we’ll use simple and playful techniques to transform ourselves into sliding doors, shopping carts, and other surprising things. It will be lots of fun – and who knows, maybe we’ll get new ideas about how we think about all the things that surround us.

The workshop is guided by Hanna Heino and Sanni Priha from Other Spaces together with xx and is translated from English to Faroese.

Other Spaces
Other Spaces is a Finnish Live Art collective (or performing arts collective) that has been working with collective body exercises since 2004. These exercises open the door to “other spaces”, allowing us to explore new and surprising ways of being and experiencing the world.

Using simple techniques, Other Spaces invites the audience into a world where the body and imagination meet. Over the past 20 years, the group has developed more than 200 exercises, which they have presented in countless performances and workshops – both in Finland and internationally.

The event is part of the children’s festival Frítt Flog – Rimmarland.
