Nordic Literature Week
Where: Dansistovan
Duration: 60 min.
Welcome to a cozy moment at dusk this Bókadagar, where the focus will be on Nordic authorship and unity.
Week 46 is Nordic Literature Week, and we, the Faroese libraries and Føroya Lesa, want to highlight this during Bókadagar. Nordic Literature Week is a reading event where the same Nordic books are read all over the Nordics. This year’s theme is unity in the Nordics. The chosen books this year are Ein hundur, ein ketta og ein mús by Bárður Oskarsson and Andvake by Jon Fosse.
The event is in two parts. We start with the book Ein hundur, ein ketta og ein mús by Bárður Oskarsson. Paula Gaard and Kinna Poulsen will converse on Bárður’s authorship and art.
In part two we will hear a reading from the book Andvake by Jon Fosse. Marna Jacobsen has translated parts of the book to Faroese for Nordic Literature Week, and she will be reading to us. In addition, Knut-Øyvind Hagen will read an excerpt in Norwegian.
Come and experience the best of Nordic literature. The stories that build bridges between language, people and countries.
Organisers: The Faroese Libraries and Føroyar Lesa.
