Opening of the new Faroese Literature Festival

Join us for the opening of the new Faroese Literature Festival

Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 3:00–5:00 PM at the City Library in Tórshavn.

Program:
Vónbjørt Vang, City Librarian, gives the welcome address
Elsa Berg, Mayor of Tórshavn, officially opens the festival
Kim Simonsen, organizer of the Faroese Literature Festival, shares a few words

Following this, there will be a discussion and conversation with prominent Nordic authors, exploring how literature and art engage with pressing issues, such as the human relationship with nature and the potential for new narratives.

Can traditional literary forms like sagas and fairy tales still be relevant today?
