Join a dance journey filled with mystery, movement, and music.
Do you know that feeling when you don’t quite fit in? That’s how Danish-Greenlandic choreographer Sarah Aviaja Hammeken feels in the performance Speech/less by AVIAJA Dance. Being part of two cultures—Denmark and Greenland—with a turbulent history creates many challenges, both good and bad, throughout life.
On stage, we meet two dancers and a musician who, through contemporary dance, song, and music, explore how myths, legends, and stories are shared within Inuit culture. We encounter mysterious characters in red and white costumes, evoking thoughts of both the Danish and Greenlandic flags, the white Arctic landscape, and the bloody colonial history.
The performance is interactive and aimed at children aged 8 and up. The audience is seated on the floor and can expect to become part of the performance along the way.
