Tore Brunborg Trio (NO/FO)
Where: Forhøllin
Duration: 45 min
Saxophonist Tore Brunborg has been a central figure in Norwegian jazz since the 1980s. This afternoon, you can experience him together with drummer Veslemøy Narvesen and Faroese-born bassist Bárður Reinert Poulsen, who was educated in Norway and is active in the Norwegian jazz and pop scene.
The trio performs music based on Brunborg’s compositions, offering a distinctive blend of refined rhythmic and harmonic elements, with strong structures and melodies that propel the music forward.
In the interplay between Brunborg’s saxophone, Narvesen’s playful drumming, and Reinert Poulsen’s airy yet powerful bass playing, the music moves in many directions – from the subtle and quiet to the energetic and intense.
Bárður and Veslemøy have previously gained attention in groups such as Espen Berg Trio, Flukten, Kongle Trio, Mall Girl, Wako, and others.
