Tórshavnar Big Band: Minnist tú enn

Come and experience the flagship of jazz in the Faroe Islands. The concert “Minnist tú enn”, where the Tórshavnar Big Band together with well-known vocal soloists perform Faroese evergreens, is the first concert to be put on sale for the Tórshavnar jazz, folk and blues festival, which is now being restored. The festival will take place on the weekend of July 4-5, 2025.

Tórshavn’s Jazz, Folk, and Blues Festival is being revived on a sustainable basis. “We are working to improve the conditions for these music genres and ensure that the Faroese music scene remains sustainable, diverse, relevant, and in constant and rapid development,” say the festival’s initiators, Sunnuva Bæk and Hans Petur í Brekkunum. They both have decades of experience with music events and are musicians themselves – Hans Petur as a professional musician and Sunnuva as a hobby musician.

The festival will start on a small scale, featuring only Faroese artists in its first year. If the audience responds well, the activities will expand. Several festivals are held in our neighboring countries at the same time – including the Copenhagen Jazz Festival – offering great opportunities for international collaborations.

Concerts and jam sessions will take place at Reinsaríið, Perluni, Blábar, and the Nordic House, among other venues. More events will be announced soon.
