VETRARJAZZ 2026 – Gentugjamm (FO/NO)
On Wednesday evening, 28 January at 22.30 Vetrarjazz invites all girls and women to come up to Blábar to jam! Everyone is of course welcome to listen, but this evening the stage and the instruments are for the women.
Tonight’s jam will be with: Hanna Veslemøy Narvesen (born 1997) a Norwegian drummer, multi-instrumentalist and composer with a degree from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo and the Department of Music (NTNU) in Trondheim. She plays in several bands – including Dafnie, Mette Rasmussen Trio North, Kongle Trio and Mall Girl – and has released music as a solo artist.
In 2017, she won the Toneprisen, a competition for young musicians with connections to Hedmark and Oppland. Narvesen was named “USBL Jazz Talent of the Year” at the Oslo Jazz Festivalin 2020. Kongle Trio won the final of Jazzintroin 2021, with a GRAMO scholarship and the title, “Young Jazz Musicians of the Year 2020”. In 2021, Veslemøy received the Narvesen Sparebanken Sør Music Prize, awarded by the Musikkontoret Sørf.
This Gentugjamm will be at Blábar, there is a need for events that develop and give female musicians in the Faroe Islands the courage to take their place on stage, to jam. Gentugjamm is FREE and all women and fem-identifying characters are welcome on stage tonight!
So tell all women and girls you know!
