VETRARJAZZ 2026-Vágsbotnur South African Jazz Band

In Havnar Jazzfelag, South African jazz was played very early. Especially musicians from Gothenburg came in the 70s with songs by Makeba, Ibrahim, Dyani and others.

The name Vágsbotnur South African Jazz Band dates back to 2007, when Summartónar had an exchange with music from South Africa.

Vágsbotnur was where a lot happened – both in Perlan which lay there and in Hvonn several years in a row. The concert in Blábar invites musicians to join and participate in the following jam session.
