Wako (NO/FO) at OY

With seven albums and hundreds of performances behind them, Wako plays with authority and personality, placing them at the forefront of Nordic jazz.

According to Mark Sullivan (All About Jazz – USA), Wako is “a Norwegian jazz collective with a truly collective sound,” and their latest release, “Wako” (Øra Fonogram, 2020), reached the top charts of Jazzwise (UK) in both March and April 2020.

Wako has brought their ever-growing musicality and creative energy across Europe, performing both as a quartet, together with the Oslo Strings, and alongside artists such as Arve Henriksen and Tore Brunborg. Their music is always adapted to the audience, environment, and material, meaning that the concerts are not only exceptional but also unique experiences. In short, Wako is one of the most impressive young live bands today.
