SWAY is a jazz trio made up of Marianna Winther Nagata, Katrina Olsen, and Dania O. Tausen. The three perform lively and highly entertaining songs a cappella. The trio draws particular inspiration from the jazz trio The Andrews Sisters, who rose to fame in the 1930s. SWAY’s performances feature a mix of vintage material — including songs by The Andrews Sisters — and their own original work in the same style.
Since their formation, they have made a strong impression on various Faroese stages. They have arranged music for — and performed with — the Faroe Islands Symphony Orchestra and Tórshavn Big Band, rearranged and performed a song by Eivør together with her, and toured schools across the country with Listaleypurin. They have also sung for Queen Margrethe. In 2021, they won the Stella Polaris music competition, and in addition, they have played countless concerts around the country at both private and public events.
They are described as a breath of fresh air in Faroese music culture, captivating audiences with their charisma and humorous performances. Their music is entertaining, and the mood is contagious — it’s easy to see why they have charmed their way into the Faroese heart.
Coffee, tea, and cake are included in the ticket price.
