Cruise
Sail into Serenity: experience our unique town
Visit Tórshavn is constantly working to develop more sustainable tourism which, naturally, also entails developing a more sustainable cruiseship industry.
Visit Tórshavn and the Port of Tórshavn have collaborated in this matter since 2023 and the Port of Tórshavn is now a part of EPI (Environmental Port Index).
Additionally, Visit Tórshavn has hired a project-based cruise coordinator to organise and sustainably develop cruiseship visits. The work involves both short-term and longer term solutions to maintain Tórshavn as a sustainable tourism destination.
The Port of Tórshavn (Tórshavnar havn) is the largest and busiest of the many harbours in the Faroe Islands.
As a thriving port with an international outlook, Tórshavn offers an unrivalled concentration of quality maritime services and expertise.
Tórshavn has enjoyed success as a base for North Atlantic fishing fleets, a focus for the nation’s container and ro-ro ferry traffic and a growing summer call for cruise ships.
