Where: Høllin
Duration: 60 min(no break)
The Faroe Islands’ largest Christmas orchestra presents an atmospheric Christmas concert, featuring both Faroese classics and international Christmas tunes.
On December 6 and 7, the annual Christmas and family concerts will take place at the Nordic House. Due to high demand, this year’s program includes four concerts – two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
As in previous years, the concerts are organized in collaboration with the music school. Many talented music school students will have the opportunity to perform alongside some of the finest musicians in the Faroe Islands’ largest orchestra.
This year’s soloists are violinists Hjalti V. Sámalsson, Oda Drós Østerø, Joanna R. Wang, and Elin Rasmussen. All four are studying music at the conservatory and will perform Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins in B minor.
In addition, three children’s and youth choirs will participate: Stella from Tórshavn Music School, the Children’s Choir from Vágar Music School, and the Children’s Choir from Nes Sóknar Music School. The choir singers, aged 9–16, will perform well-known Faroese Christmas songs.
The choirs are conducted by Edith Dahl Jakobsen, Katrin á Borg Johannesen, and Joanna Johansen.
Warmly welcome to this year’s Christmas concert!
