RÓIN – THE MUSICIAN AT THE END OF THE WORLD

A slippery slope for reserved people like me to come to the Faroe Islands… This is what the Westman, Róin Siggertsson, says, among other things, in the new documentary film “Róin – the musician at the end of the world.” In the film, we follow the musician Róin Siggertsson, who moves back home after almost 30 years in Denmark. It’s a personal story about struggling, dealing with substance abuse, becoming a father, and finding hope through music.

The director is Pætur H. Evensson, who has followed Róin since 2021. Gorm Just edited the film, while Ólavur Jákupsson composed the music and created the sound design. The film is produced by Kykmyndir, with Jón Hammer as the producer.

A distinctive feature of the film is that most of the music is by Róin “roWan” Siggertsson himself – and it includes several songs that have not been released until now.

“Róin – the musician at the end of the world” will be shown at Blábar on July 19 at 8:00 PM.

After the screening, there will be an intimate concert at 9.30 PM, where Róin will play some of his own songs.
