Aldubáran Sinfonietta – 30 years anniversary concert

30th Anniversary Celebration of Aldubáran

30 years ago, the music ensemble Aldubáran was founded. Seven young musicians, who at the time were all scattered across the world, came together to form the group. The purpose was – and still is – to perform music at the highest level and to encourage composers to write new works.

Over the past three decades, the ensemble has focused on commissioning, creating, and performing especially new Faroese music, as well as chamber and contemporary music both in the Faroe Islands and abroad.

On October 18, Aldubáran invites you to a birthday concert with the full ensemble, where they will premiere brand-new works composed by very young composers. Most of them were not even born when Aldubáran was founded 30 years ago.

The young composers whose works will be performed at the concert are:
Tóra Bogadóttir, Ásgerð Stenberg Olsen, Alvi Joensen, Eli Tausen á Lava, Bjarni Blaasvær, Mikkjal Davidsen, Andras Atlason, Ólavur Eyðunsson Gaard.

The concert will be something truly special, and we look forward to seeing you in Hátún at the Music School on Saturday, October 18 at 19:30.

Everyone is warmly welcome. Admission is free.
