Randers Chamber Orchestra with Anja Nedremo (DK/NO)
Where: Høllin
Duration: 110 min (incl. break)
This concert with the Randers Chamber Orchestra features music from the Faroe Islands, Denmark, and France. Norwegian saxophonist Anja Nedremo performs as soloist in Jacques Ibert’s elegant and poetic Saxophone Concerto, as well as in a work for solo saxophone and string quartet by Faroese composer Teitur.
The program also includes music by Carl Nielsen, Hans Abrahamsen, and Gustav Helsted, blending a tone of Danish summer atmosphere with inspiration from the stormy Romantic currents south of the border.
Randers Chamber Orchestra is Denmark’s only permanent professional chamber orchestra. Each year, the orchestra performs 150–200 concerts, including orchestral and chamber concerts in Randers and across Denmark, school and children’s concerts, opera performances, collaborative concerts with other orchestras and ensembles, and much more. Through concerts, CD releases, and tours, Randers Chamber Orchestra has established itself as an important institution in Danish musical life.
