Thomas plans to move in with another woman he has met when Ane suddenly suffers a blood clot, forcing their daily lives to be reorganized.

The move is canceled, and they decide to continue living together until Ane’s condition improves. While she does everything she can to recover, they must face the reality that daily life will never be the same again, and that hope can be found where no one expected it to be.

The Danish film “Begyndelser” (Beginnings) is a life-affirming and moving love story about what happens within a household and a relationship when one person’s life undergoes sudden changes.

Trine Dyrholm and David Dencik, who are among the leading names in Danish cinema, are acting together in this way for the first time in twenty years.

Danish director Jeanette Nordahl (b. 1985) first appeared in Filmsfelagið with the captivating but also harsh film “Kød & Blod” (Wildland, 2020), about strong family bonds within a modern-day Danish criminal family.
