Environment Week: The Compost House
Where: Klingran
Duration: 3 hours (drop-in)
In this hands-on workshop, you will gain a simple and clear understanding of composting, soil formation, and growing food. Participants build a plant pot in several layers using natural materials, and cress seeds are sown on top. At home, on the windowsill, the material gradually composts over the course of the summer and becomes nourishment for the growing plant – and then you have something to eat! A living example of a nutrient cycle.
Who is leading the workshop?
Tjóðhild Patursson, who owns and runs the eateries Tita at the Nordic House and Ástaklokkuna in central Tórshavn. The workshop is suitable for all age groups. No prior knowledge is required.
This is one of the Family Day events. See the full programme.
