World wide knit in public day 2026

Do you love yarn and enjoy knitting or crocheting?

Then come join the KIP (Knit in Public) event on “Trappan” in Vágsbotn as we celebrate World Wide Knit in Public Day!

The event is free and aims to bring together everyone who loves knitting, crochet, and yarn crafts. When people with a shared passion gather, there are always opportunities to learn something new and make new friends. We hope to meet both experienced and beginner knitters, crocheters, and yarn enthusiasts of all ages from all around!

So go pack your knitting needles or crochet hook, grab your knitting buddy, and come down to “Trappan” to enjoy a cozy afternoon with fellow yarn lovers.

Share the event with your knitting friends and anyone you’d like to bring along.

My hopes are that the turnout will be just as good as in previous years, or perhaps even better.

Good things to bring:

A seat cushion! The stone steps are cold and hard, and if you’re planning to stay as long as I am, this is a must.

A travel mug! I certainly can’t manage that many hours without a cup of coffee.

Knitting needles or a crochet hook! An obvious one, but even if you forget them, you’re still very welcome to join us.
