Exhibition by Tóna Fritsdóttir
About the artist:
Tóna Fritsdóttir is an artist with a bachelor’s degree in photography from Rome, Italy, and has recently completed a master’s degree in fashion film and fashion photography in Paris, France. She works as a fashion and beauty editorial photographer, with a visual language rooted in dreams and surrealism, where poetic images create a sense of quiet longing — both belonging and fleeting at the same time.
Tóna has previously held photo exhibitions abroad, in Italy, Serbia, and Paris, where she has among other things shown her work at Cortona On The Move. These international exhibitions have given her valuable experience and made it possible to place Faroese art in a broader international context. At the same time, she has a strong desire to also show and share her art at home, to help strengthen and enrich the Faroese art scene.
Tóna has a clear goal of bringing Faroese art out into the world, while also creating work that honors Faroese culture and places it in a modern and international context.
