Alvi Joensen

For his diploma concert, he commissioned Distant Fires, a guitar concerto by Swedish composer StaCan Storm, premiered with Musica Vitae and percussionist Johan Bridger. His debut album Lost Gems (2021) revives seldom-heard works on the verge of being forgotten. Joensen has since co-founded and led chamber ensembles, most notably HAV, commissioning a dozen new works from Nordic composers that explore ecological and environmental themes.
