Small wind turbines can be affordable for individuals for off grid use, but can also contribute to the energy supply.
By having them distributed near local electrical loads, there is little electrical transmission loss, but also the potential to support the reactive power requirements of the grid electrical transmission. It may also be able to supply the electrical harmonics of local loads, thereby protecting the electrical grid from harmonics.
