Blodklubb with Hamradun (NO/FO)
Are you Faroese? What do your genes say? Your family? Your language? Your home? What does your blood tell you?
Heritage and environment influence both our identity—who we are—and the communities we belong to.
Blodklubb is an artistic exploration of identity and belonging, where you, as an audience member, become an active part of an evening filled with stories, humor, small rituals, and symbolic actions. You might even be invited to donate blood!
We reflect on heritage, language, and culture, playing with the boundaries between the personal and the collective. Together, we search for the feeling of belonging to a community—even when our stories and backgrounds are very different. The event also features a concert by the Faroese band Hamradun.
Blodklubb draws on Norwegian history, where the indigenous Sámi people experienced generations of “Norwegianization” and cultural pressure. However, the theme is broader and applies far beyond Norway—to all places where language, culture, and identity are present.
The artistic group Ferske Scener, based in Tromsø, works with theater, gatherings, and interactive events that engage the audience and emphasize the linguistic and cultural diversity of the Nordic region.
Leaders of Blodklubb: Sigbjørn Skåden, Bernt Bjørn, Kristin Bjørn, Kristina Junttila
Guests: Hilde Kristin Liu Skoglund and—just for this evening—the band Hamradun
Producer: Marianne Siljuberg
Supported by: Arts and Culture Norway, Tromsø Kommune, Troms Fylke, and Pahn – stikk
The performance is part of the festival VERK – Nordic Stage Days, supported by the Nordic Culture Fund.
