Book presentations: Nivinaja and Friðleys
The programme includes author interviews and live music. Bodil á Boðanesi, who came third in Sement 2026, will perform songs from Nivinaja as well as some of her own songs.
NIVINAJA
Naja seems to have everything anyone could wish for. She lives in a beautiful house, is a talented swimmer and has lots of friends. But something is wrong inside the beautiful house.
Naja feels that something is missing, although she doesn’t know what. But one day, everything changes. She discovers the first clue that leads her into a hidden world of lies and secrets.
Nivinaja is an exciting novel by Elin á Rógvi for children aged 10–13.
Literature scholar Paula Gaard will talk to Elin about the book.
FRIÐLEYS – SNJÓMÁNAFÓLKIÐ 2
In a vision, 14-year-old Saga sees the shieldmaiden Thyra Silvralitta, who died in the great war of the Southlands. Saga has only met her once before, but knows that they are bound by blood. She promises Thyra to bring her remains home to the North.
The rune reader Karis predicts that the journey will be dangerous and advises Saga to keep her true identity secret. Saga dyes her silver hair, conceals the scar on her forehead and sets off with the wolf Skinnhvíti.
She intends to become an apprentice shieldmaiden to the powerful seeress in the Westlands, just as Thyra did. She must learn to wield weapons and be prepared to do whatever it takes.
Friðleys is the second book in Ingun Christensen’s fantasy series Snjómánafólkið, which is set in the Iron Age. The first book, Rúnaspá, was published in 2025.
Jóna Reinert Joensen, Olivia Reinert Joensen and Silja Aldudóttir from the podcast Ung lesa will talk to Ingun about the book.
Both books are published by Bókadeild Føroya Lærarafelags.
The books will be available for purchase at special launch prices, and refreshments, both hot and cold, will be available at the bar.
The event is free, and everyone is welcome!
