Celebration of the Faroese nominees for the Nordic Council prizes 2025

For the first time the Faroe Islands are represented in all five categories of the Nordic Council prizes – a big milestone for Faroese arts and culture. 

We are marking this occation with an open reception in the Nordic House, where we will celebrate this year’s Faroese nominees. 

The afternoon will offer speeches, bubbles, and celebration of the voices putting the Faroe Islands on the Nordic map. 

The nominees are:

• Environment: HUGLA
• Children and young people’s literature: Elin á Rógvi and Silja Eystberg – Fornt (Bókadeild Føroya Lærarafelags) 
• Literature: Vónbjørt Vang – Svørt orkidé (Forlagið Eksil)
• Film: Seinasta paradís á jørð by Sakaris Stórá, Mads Stegger, Tommy Oksen, and Jón Hammer
• Music: Brimheim

Later, we will show the Faroese film, Seinasta paradís á jørð, which is nominated for the Nordic Council Film Prize – the first time a Faroese film enters this category! 

On the same day as the event, the winners of the Nordic Council prizes 2025 will be announced.
