Children’s Concert: Nu Ska Vi U Å Sejle

Look forward to a cozy concert for the whole family, featuring sparkling jazz and the classic story from the album Nu Ska Vi U Å Sejle – now in Faroese.

Jazzarifics
First, we’ll hear Jazzarifics, an exciting children’s jazz orchestra that started in 2022, when the musicians were just 7–10 years old.

They have already performed at venues such as Gulu Smiðju, Blábar, Vetrarjazz, and Listastovan í Miðvági – and have delighted audiences at Kids in Jazz in Oslo and Djasshátíð barnanna in Mosfellsbær.

This afternoon, they will present classic jazz tunes, featuring pieces by Freddie Hubbard, Dave Brubeck, and Miles Davis.

Sway and Yggdrasil
After a break, we meet Maggi the flea horse, Hanz Ole the snake, and Tóra the giraffe, who borrow Grandpa Bessef’s boat and sail all the way to the exciting Carambaland, where many adventures await.

The iconic children’s album Nu Ska Vi U Å Sejle from 1977 was created by Kristian Blak. At that time, he traveled with Sharon, performing the story for children in both the Faroe Islands and Denmark.

Now Sway and Yggdrasil bring the entire story to life – in Faroese. The music has been translated and reimagined by, among others, Kári Øster and Dania O. Tausen.
