Deiggj (FO)

Deiggj also released an LP in 1985, and several of those songs are still played at dances and concerts — among them the song “Prúða land”, which is probably Deiggj’s most well-known track.

Deiggj originated in Tvøroyri in the autumn of 1981, when the new band was formed. Two members from Froðba and four from Tvøroyri made up the new group. Now, more than 43 years later, they still play with Deiggj and remain best friends. Four of the original members are still in the band. The newest members have been with Deiggj for 24 and 15 years, respectively. Throughout all these years, Deiggj has been a very active band, performing both abroad and in the Faroe Islands.

For many years, Deiggj has been a highly sought-after cover band, with a special focus on songs by Uriah Heep and Deep Purple, among others. But playing their own material has long been a dream for Deiggj. That dream will once again become reality at Maggie’s, when the musicians of Deiggj take the stage in Nólsoy.

The last time Deiggj held a similar concert was at Løkshøll in Runavík. That concert was very well attended. There will be an opportunity to purchase the new LP — and with each LP comes a free CD.
