Highlights of the Faroe Islands – Full-Day Photography Tour

Join us for a full-day guided tour exploring the best of Streymoy and Eysturoy, the two central islands of the Faroe Islands. This tour combines stunning nature, legendary sights, and charming villages — perfect for photography enthusiasts and curious travellers alike.

Mountain Viewpoint
We begin with pickup from 09:00 and head out of Tórshavn via the old mountain road to Norðadalsskarð, a spectacular viewpoint perfect for panoramic photos.

Saksun – The Hidden Gem
Our first stop is the picturesque village of Saksun, surrounded by steep mountains and facing a quiet lagoon. Known for its turf-roofed houses and natural beauty, Saksun feels like a step back in time.

Tjørnuvík and the Sea Stacks
Next, we visit Tjørnuvík, a remote village with a dramatic black-sand beach popular among cold-water surfers. From here, we’ll see the iconic sea stacks — the Giant and the Witch — tied to an old Faroese legend. If you’re lucky, locals might be selling coffee and waffles.

Fossá Waterfall and Slættaratindur
We continue to Fossá, the highest waterfall in the Faroe Islands — a must-see when exploring northern Streymoy. From there, we pass by Slættaratindur, the islands’ tallest mountain.

Gjógv Village
Our final main stop is Gjógv, a stunning village named after its deep natural gorge. We’ll take our time here, enjoy lunch, and stroll through the village. You’ll also have the option of a short scenic walk to a viewpoint maintained through the Faroes’ Voluntourism programme.

Zig-Zag Roads and Return
On the way back, we’ll enjoy a final stop to admire the view over the winding mountain roads above Funningur before returning to Tórshavn around 15:00.
