Kári P. – A living legend on stage at Reinsaríið
Kári P. – or Kári Leivsson, as he is now known – is one of our greatest songwriters. With his unique melodies and lyrics that are of an international caliber, Kári has helped shape Faroese music since the 1970s. Some have called him our answer to Bob Dylan, as his lyrics are deep, thoughtful, and often both poetic and sharp-tongued – while the melodies possess a life and strength that have stood the test of decades.
Even though Kári chose psychology as his career path and music has moved into the background, it has not diminished the significance of his music. On the contrary, it seems to have gained a timeless relevance – the lyrics revolve around human life, emotions, and social conditions that are just as relevant today as when they were first written.
Alongside him, Kári has brought two heavyweights: Finnur Hansen on piano and Edvard Nyholm Debess on bass.
Experiencing Kári P. on stage is a truly special experience. He is not just a singer, but a storyteller who manages to capture moments from life and put them into words and music that strike right at the heart.
