Meet Norway’s First Astronaut Jannicke Mikkelsen (NO)

Where: Høllin
Duration: 60 min.

What is it like to be shot into space aboard a rocket and see our planet from afar, floating in the darkness?

Jannicke Mikkelsen has done something that most people only dream of. She led a historic space mission as the spacecraft commander of the Fram2 mission.

She has orbited the Earth more than 50 times, looking down at her home country, Norway, far below, as the first Norwegian woman in space.

Tonight, she will share the extraordinary story of her journey to space, about dreams that require courage — and about daring to think big and break the boundaries we believe exist.

She inspires, challenges, and invites you to see the world with new eyes!

In addition to being an astronaut, Jannicke is an award-winning filmmaker. She has worked with NASA, Netflix, Paramount Pictures, BBC, and cultural icons such as the rock band Queen, Buzz Aldrin, Brian May, and Sir David Attenborough. She has dedicated her career to documenting the unknown and expanding horizons — literally.

Look forward to a truly special lecture that inspires both young and old to think bigger and see the world anew. Meet an adventurer, a pioneer — and a person who has seen us all from space.

The lecture is part of an event series, where Nordens Hus will focus on outer space over a weekend. More information to follow.
