No Rest for the Wicked (Kasper Kalle, Denmark / Faroe Islands / Iceland, 2026, 103 min)

The story takes place in the Faroe Islands in 1862, where we follow the daily life of Baldur (Egor Venned), a fisherman living in a small village. The arrival of a mysterious stranger changes everything. The stranger is Helgi (Pilou Asbæk), a Danish whaler who awakens something deep within Baldur. As time passes, profound emotions begin to grow, and the bond between the two men becomes increasingly evident.

When tragedy tears apart the relationship they have built, it sparks a chain of violent events. Fear spreads through the village, and the villagers unite in an attempt to bury what they see as evil. But Baldur and Helgi refuse to let go of the love that has blossomed between them. They fight for it until the very end—and beyond.

No Rest for the Wicked is the second feature film by Danish director Kasper Kalle. His first feature was Christian IV – The King’s Last Journey (2018).

The cast includes Egor Venned, Pilou Asbæk, Sofia Nolsøe (Ásla), Kjartan Hansen (Súni), Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Jákup), and Brimheim.

The film was produced by Lars Bredo Rahbek for SF Studios, the leading film production company in the Nordic region, in collaboration with Outlier Projects, founded by Jón Hammer in the Faroe Islands, and the Icelandic production company Truenorth.
