Nústalgia (Nowstalgia) (FO)
Where: Høllin, Klingran
Duration: 90 min.
Between the worlds of Utopia and Dystopia we find Nowstalgia – a protopic world where time is not as we know it, because here it is the now that rules. The main characters of this world are insects and it is their innate will to live in the now that dictates. They have no other choice than to live in the present.
The theatre concert Nústalgia (Eng. Nowstalgia) by the Faroese contemporary dance company and the Faroese flower-punk/axekiller-pop band AGGRASOPPAR, is an experimental fusion of contemporary dance, music and theatre that deals with humans’ urge to long out of the now. Humans have always searched forward in time for the next thing to happen or reminisced back to what already passed. However, modern society moves rapidly and we plan further ahead than ever while scrolling through our memories of a time we try to hold on to.
Out of this, the word “nowstalgia” came to be – the longing for the now. Perhaps we are no longer able to be in the present. Perhaps we already miss the life we have today and all we have is what already has passed. This is why we, for a moment, head to Nowstalgia – to experience the chaotic and cosmic here and now.
The stage work is based on AGGRASOPPAR’S upcoming album with the same title.
