Quand vient l’automne (François Ozon, France)

The aging Michelle lives a quiet life in a village in Burgundy, where her friend Marie-Claude also resides. When her daughter Valérie, who lives in Paris, arrives with her son Lucas, they agree that he will stay with his grandmother while the city schools are on break. But things take a turn when Michelle serves a meal accompanied by poisonous mushrooms. Valérie quickly recovers, yet she no longer dares to leave her son in his grandmother’s care. Michelle feels both guilty and lonely. And then Marie-Claude’s imprisoned son is suddenly released.
