Reinhold Friedrich Brass Quintet presents a concert program spanning centuries of music history, from Bach and Vivaldi to Glenn Miller, while also representing the quintet’s five different nationalities.

About the Quintet
The Reinhold Friedrich Brass Quintet was founded in 2022 and comprises some of the world’s leading brass musicians. The quintet is a passion project of the internationally renowned trumpeter Reinhold Friedrich, who has gathered a group of musicians with outstanding technical and artistic skills and a shared musical vision.

In 2024, the quintet released its debut album Unity with Solo Musica. The album features, among other pieces, Brian Bindner’s arrangement of Antonio Vivaldi’s Trio Sonata La Follia, and Mogens Andresen’s arrangement of Carl Nielsen’s Five Preludes is one of the key works in the concert program.

The quintet has collaborated with Danish trombonists Brian Bindner and Mogens Andresen to perform their arrangements.

Members

  • Reinhold Friedrich (trumpet) – Internationally acclaimed trumpeter, permanent member of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, active in both baroque and contemporary music.
  • Jeroen Berwaerts (trumpet) – Belgian musician, former NDR Symphony Orchestra member, and professor at Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media.
  • Lasse Mauritzen (horn) – Principal horn of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, faculty member at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
  • Ian Bousfield (trombone) – Former member of the Vienna Philharmonic and London Symphony Orchestra, active as a soloist and conductor.
  • Thomas Røisland (tuba) – a Norwegian musician, and member of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, has collaborated with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and Berlin Philharmonic.
