Silvurdrongur – Bønir: Album listen in Tutl

Bønir is the name of the third album from Silvurdrongur – the first was Silvurplátu (2018) and second nú æt eg eftir ánni (2024). 

It may be said that this new album represents an entirely new era, with a reborn sonic universe in Silvurdrongur’s artistic journey.

The music was produced at Oslo Østre Frikirke, where Oddur Joensen has his studio. Oddur has produced the album with remarkable skill, fully succeeding in creating the warm, unpolished, and organic sound that was the goal from the very beginning.

Everything was recorded from scratch using live, hands-on musicianship – drums, guitars, pedal steel guitar, bass, keyboards, piano, and various other smaller instruments. This approach serves as a response to the computer-generated and AI-driven trends of our time. This release was intended to be the exact opposite: physical and deeply human in every way, embracing a raw, untamed, and imperfect expression where small mistakes and happy accidents are gladly left in the songs.
