About the film:
Anna Sofía has just moved down to Oyrasund, where Álvur already lives. Together they create a home in Oyrasund. The grey concrete blocks have housed thousands of Faroese people over several generations. Here, they continue building a home they’re not sure they ever left — or whether it was ever truly theirs.

Welcome Home is a story about friendship, hallway gossip, and dreams — perhaps for a limited time? If home starts to feel like a place, where you can’t really be — especially if you’re young, quiet, and a little too much?

The past lurks, the future calls, and they stand in between. Doubtful, longing, and together. At least they have each other.

After the film, Hermann Eliassen will have a conversation with Maria Winther Olsen, the director, Anna Sofía Holm Skoradal, and Álvur av Kák.
