Nólsoy Rescue Association (NBF) was founded on October 18, 1987.
NBF is part of the national association (LFB). The organization operates from municipal facilities and has both a rescue vehicle and Rescue-Brá (rescue boat).
All work is voluntary and includes searching for missing persons at sea and on land, transporting patients on stretchers, and providing first aid.
In 2020, First Responders received their certificates, and they must update their training annually as part of strengthening professionalism in volunteer emergency response.
Havnar Rescue Association, Kollafjarðar Rescue Association, and Nólsoy Rescue Association work closely together, including through the biennial “Thor” training exercises.
All emergency calls should be made to 112, and if NBF’s assistance is needed, they will coordinate with the Ambulance Service, Rescue-Tanum, the fire department, and/or the police.
