The name Tubbak is closely connected to the history of the address. In 1934, Christian Dahl-Restorff opened Fa. Tubbak, a tobacco shop that became a familiar meeting place for locals, fishermen and sailors travelling to and from the nearby harbour. Today, the restaurant carries the name forward in a new form, with food and hospitality replacing the tobacco trade while retaining the idea of the location as a place where people meet.
