Two lighthouses are on the south end of Nólsoy. The smaller, placed on Borðutanga, can be seen from Tórshavn. The larger lighthouse was built in 1893 on a place called Tumbin. This lighthouse is one of the most powerful in the world, and the light can be seen far out into the ocean. Close to the lighthouse is a row of houses, where the lighthouse keepers and there families lived. During the second world war British soldier dwelled on Borðan, and remains from their buildings are still to be seen.
- The hike is suitable for children, but the hike is long (around 6 km)
- Grass cairn path, some places can be stony and rocky.
- Medium difficulty – It is steep and in some places difficult to walk up. But when you come up, there is level ground all the way to Borðan
