Faer Isles Distillery

We are developing whisky in the ideal environment: the beautiful Faroe Islands. The wet, salty, and windy climate is optimal for whisky maturation

Located on the remote, windswept Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic Ocean, Faer Isles Distillery is one of the most northerly distilleries in the world.

Created by enthusiasts, Faer Isles Distillery has from day one been fuelled by passion. Entrepreneurship and devotion to flavor and spirits have driven this project from the day we founded the first whisky appreciation society on the islands until today when we are producing whisky and several other quality spirits based on local botanicals and culinary traditions.

In 2021 we invited everyone to buy shares in the company via our first community funding round and now have shareholders in 23 countries.

Visitor Centre & Bar
Our guided tours of the distillery always start and end in our visitor center, which includes our well-equipped bar offering 50+ single malt whiskies along with other quality spirits and beers. So, it is well worth a stop – either after the completion of a tour or on its own.

The bar does not have regular opening hours but is open with tours and events announced on our social media pages.

A central part of the décor are the 14 handcrafted custom-made wooden tables by local craftsman, Joel Cole. Constructed as a puzzle, they can be used as individual tables (high or low as they are adjustable) or combined into different configurations, including a large table.

We also have an outdoor area used when the weather permits.
