Landssjúkrahúsið (National Hospital)

The National Hospital is the main hospital in the Faroe Islands and one of the largest workplaces in the country, employing about 850 people across 30 job categories.

It has 127 beds and covers 29 specialist areas. The hospital’s mission is to examine, treat, care for, and rehabilitate patients, with 24/7 emergency services in major specialties.

Its vision is to provide quality healthcare services to Faroese people and ensure treatment abroad when necessary.

Management, led by the hospital director, makes overall decisions and is accountable to the Ministry of Health. The goal is to offer high-quality healthcare from birth to end of life, based on knowledge and excellent service.
