Heimavirkið, the Village Handicraft Association, was founded in 2007, coinciding with the launch of the local tourist office. Our association embodies the rich traditions of Faroese craftmanship, connecting the past with the present.

Driven by the passion of dedicated volunteers, Heimavirkið has grown to include artisans from all over the islands, each in their own way connected to Nólsoy. Together, we preserve and promote traditional techniques while fostering a close-knit community of creators.

Our shop showcases a thoughtfully curated selection of handmade goods, reflecting the Faroese heritage, all at fair prices. With new goods arriving weekly, there’s always something new to explore.

We warmly invite you to visit us in the heart of the village and experience the unique traditions of Faroese craftsmanship. Our shop is open in the summer season from 1 June to 31 August.
