THE COMPANY – company goals

When Vøggan opened in 2000, the goal was to provide high-quality children’s equipment and excellent service to families in the Faroe Islands. Vøggan has done this exceptionally well over the years, and we therefore aim to continue with this goal.

VØGGAN – a physical store & an online store

Vøggan was established in November 2000. Rógvi and Annie Nielsen from Oyndarfjørður founded the company and opened the store in Runavík in November 2000. In 2004, they moved the store to Tórshavn, into a small space in the center of town, and later, the store was relocated to Heykavegur on Hálsi, where Thomas Dam now operates, though only in a fraction of the space Vøggan had back then.

In September 2007, Tóra Johansen bought the company and has since owned and operated Sp/f Vøggan. After the store had been on Hálsi for a few years, Vøggan moved back to town on November 29, 2014, this time to Niels Finsensgøta 18. In March 2019, the store was expanded with an additional floor, and in 2020, it moved again to Heykavegur, where Vøggan remains today.

The webshop had been in development for a long time, and work on it continues. Many updates need to be followed up on. However, the webshop was ready just in time when COVID-19 hit the Faroe Islands in 2020, and it was not possible to welcome customers into the physical store.
