Huldulitt
It is a time when we say ‘síggjast’ (see you later) with the huldres, trolls, and elves, before they retreat into hiding, as we gradually approach brighter times
Huldulitt brings light, legend, and magic to the darkest time of year.
Discover Faroese folklore through stories of huldrefolk, elves, and trolls as Tórshavn transforms with enchanting light installations, art, and music.
Viðarlundin becomes a magical hidden grove filled with glowing installations, curious objects, and a secret portal, decorated with creative works by local schools and institutions. The city center and the old cemetery will also shine with light installations.
Huldulitt opens end of January, and is a week were we emphasize the unique Faroese history and cultural heritage through various light installations and events, thereby strengthening the Faroese identity and art – and, for our visitors, strengthening the understanding of Faroese heritage and culture.
