Viðarlundin (The Park) in the Center of Tórshavn
Viðarlundin, also known as Plantasjan, is one of the largest parks in the Faroe Islands and is located in the center of Tórshavn.
In the Christmas storm of 1988, many trees fell, creating a fun natural playground where children and adults can climb.
The park features a pond with ducks and swans, and numerous paths where visitors can enjoy the sounds of the river and the trees.
It is situated between Varðagøta, Hoydalsvegur, and Gundadalsvegur, with the Art Museum of the Faroe Islands located in the northern part of the park.
Throughout the park, you can find beautiful sculptures, including a monument dedicated to Faroese seamen who lost their lives at sea during World War II.
Note: The National Art Gallery (Listasavn Føroya) is located within the park.
