“Heljareygað” at gamla Hoyvík is a cave in the rock that opens into the ocean. Follow the path along the eastern side of the cove at Hoyvík for approx. 100 m until the path ends and you will find “Heljareygað” on your right. The entrance, which has a diameter of 1.5 metres and is covered with seaweed, is a really unusual way of starting a dive. Once you have descended, you come out into a beautiful cave with deep crevices and walls alive with different colours. The backlighting from the entrance creates a delightful setting.
The maximum depth is 3.5 m and there is space for three divers. You can see the cave’s exit immediately.
