On Eiðið, there are several outbuildings. The buildings are made of beach stones and originate from Malarendi, where the shoreline is today.
The outbuildings were originally used for drying fish and pilot whale meat. Later, they were repurposed as hay barns. Most of these buildings are now protected.
They stand at the edge of the sea on the eastern side, where the ocean steadily erodes the land, posing a threat to the structures. In the past, this area was common land, accessible for everyone to use.
