Niðasta Lon (The Lower Lon) was built in the 18th century.
In 1951, archaeologist Sverri Dahl from the Faroese National Heritage Association conducted archaeological excavations in connection with construction work at Niðasta Lon.
During the excavation, he discovered various archaeological artifacts dating from the years 1000–1200 AD.
